Back Home Again, Unexpectedly

So the protests in Bahrain didn't get better as we had hoped.  In fact, they got worse...a lot worse.  Presently, there are GCC troops in Bahrain from Saudi Arabia, UAE, and a few other countries.  The King has stopped short of calling it martial law, but there's not really another term for it.  They will be there for 90 days according to the king, and as a precaution, the Embassy announced "authorized departure" for spouses and other dependents of Embassy employees.  Authorized departure means we have a choice to leave but it is STRONGLY recommended.  Charlotte and I took advantage and after a long and frustrating flight, we are in Detroit with my in-laws.  On Monday or Tuesday of this coming week, Charlotte and I will drive down to Indianapolis where we will be staying until the authorized departure status is lifted, whenever that will be.  We've been told to expect 90 days, but Chris is also optimistic that it won't last beyond 45.  We'll see.  Please be praying for us.  I am trying to stay strong and trust in the Lord, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't aggravated and frustrated by this entire situation.  Also pray for Chris as he remains in Bahrain.

Amazing Grace

You're never too old to learn something new, contrary to what some people think.  You see, for the past couple of months, I've been trying to teach myself piano.  I took lessons for about a year when I was in first grade, but that was it.  I deeply wish I knew how to play so that I could play for leisure and to do better when playing hymns during family devotions.  As a result, I decided to try and teach myself.  I've been practicing almost everyday and here is the first song I'm fairly competent with...not perfect yet, but getting there.  I need to order some beginner hymn books from Amazon.  I don't desire to be at concert piano level...I'd be happy with level 2 or 3...just good enough to play some recognizable hymn songs competently.
