I love Americana, and Raggedy Ann is certainly Americana. The cute little rag doll with red yarn hair is so nostalgic and reflects a bygone, simpler era that I wish I could go back in time and experience for at least a day. When I saw a Raggedy Ann pattern for only $1.99 at JoAnn's, I couldn't pass it up. I figured I might one day get around to making it. Well, that "one day" finally arrived. Raggedy Ann took awhile to make because there were so many pieces and the wig part of the doll didn't exactly go as I wanted it to, but all in all, I think it turned out alright and I hope it will make one little girl very happy for her 2nd birthday.
I loved this pattern because it had a cute little heart applique to put on the chest. Since I've recently acquired an embroidery machine, I embroidered the heart and the face.
This is a close up of the embroidered face. I managed to find a free doll face embroidery pattern online!
Here's Raggedy Ann with her clothes on. I also used the embroidery machine to embroidery her dress and petticoat.
I made a second outfit for Raggedy Ann, and it fits on other dolls, too!
This is the pattern I used. Perhaps I'll get around to making the cute little kitty and doggy, too.

That is so cute, Mandy! It looks like you can have a lot of fun with that embroidery machine.

Where did you find the pattern for your face? I've looked all over and only found very expensive not so good quality ones....
